Our trip to Columbus

Here is some video of the kids in the park by Aunt Jill's house! They loved being outside, running around and dragging sticks! Who needs high tech toys!?!?!

Fantasy Football Standings

Well, I was going to put some pictures from our trip to Columbus on the blog, but Blogger is having some issue uploading them!

So, instead I'll catch you up on our Fantasy Football Standings. Tomorrow I'll try and get those pictures up. :) We have a BIG game against Janelle this week!!

Nicoli’s Kitchen - Apple Crisp

Apple Crisp

Serves: 6 Prep: 20 Bake: 30 min

4 medium tart cooking apples (Rome, Granny Smith), sliced (4 cups)

3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup quick-cooking or old fashioned oats
1/3 cup butter, softened
3/4 tea. Ground cinnamon
3/4 tea. Ground nutmeg
Cream or ice cream, if desired

1. Heat oven to 375°.
2. Grease bottom and sides of square pan, 8x8x2 in, with shortening.
3. Spread apples in pan. Mix remaining ingredients except cream; sprinkle over apples
4. Bake about 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender when pierced with fork.
5. Serve warm.

I thought that I put a nice Fall dessert on, especially since apples are in season now. You can subsitute and good cooking apple, but I suggest firm, crisp, TART apples. This recipe doubles easily (we always had to at our house growing up).

Here's some pictures of Nora from last year up. It's amazing how much she's grown! These are from August & September 2006.
